Rafel Magrinyà: “I want to thank the students for their understanding and particpation”

The Academic Director of the University School of Health and Sport of the Salt and Terres de l’Ebre campuses, Rafel Magrinyà, explains how the day-to-day life of the teachers and students is being upheld despite the confinement due to the health alarm of the Covid-19 and how from EUSES all the mechanisms have been activated so that the academic formation of the students continues with the maximum normality possible.

How are the online classes going?

Very well. The experience is very good so far. We have good resources and new ones are being added. And the participation from both the research teaching staff and the students is excellent.

What the teachers think about it all?

The general feeling is that they now have even more work than before, at what was already a busy time of the course just before the confinement. Despite this, everyone considers it as an opportunity that has allowed us all to get more up to date technologically and use more communication and teaching tools, and we are doing so. The participation is extraordinary. I think it will make us better and I am sure that when all this happens we will all come out stronger.

How has your day-to-day work as Academic Director changed?

Perhaps I am the person who’s work life has changed the least because there was already a part of the work that I did online. However, we have increased the number of telematic meetings through zoom, whereby and all these applications and tools that we are getting used to. The feeling and the reality is that we are more busy, but happy to be able to continue working and hoping to be able to get back to living life with normality.

What advice would you currently give to the students in the degree?

Before I give them some advice I would like to thank them for their understanding and paticipation in a difficult time and for the willingness to help that they have always shown. If I could give them some advice I would tell them to do what I try to apply to myself: establish a schedule, respect it and look to advance as much as you can because when we can recover our daily life and see each other face to face, we will have the work done or be on track to be able to dedicate ourselves again to what we like most, which is to be together.
